EVIA Studio is a newresearch-based architecture and consulting firm in Silicon Valley specializing in contextualstory-richfuture-minded custom residences, multifamily, and mixed-use developments. We are dedicated to designing beautiful, cutting-edge, and resilient housing for the West Coast, with local offices in the Bay Area, California and Bellingham, Washington.

In true Silicon Valley spirit, we practice less like your typical architecture firm and more like a burgeoning start-up with big goals and a rebel spirit. Our team operates in a completely virtual practice, and we're looking for uniqueambitiousvisionary designers to join as part-time independent contractors with potential to take on long-term, significant roles in the company as we grow and evolve. You will work collaboratively with the firm's Founder and Studio Director to create and execute project concepts and develop stunning, detail-oriented design from concept through construction.

You should have:

  • B.Arch or M.Arch + (bonus points for multi-discipline background)
  • 3+ years design experience, including residential work
  • Impeccable presentation skills - clean, balanced, compelling
  • Understanding of construction documents and code compliance (CRC, CBC, IBC, IRC)
  • Interest in licensure (AXP experience offered) or licensed
  • Wood and steel frame construction experience
  • Familiarity with consultants work/drawings to coordinate/collaborate (structural, civil, geotech, landscape, MEP engineers, etc)
  • Interest in new methods of digital design representation and storytelling (VR, AR, etc.)
  • Thirst for knowledge - latest trends, materials, construction methods, research
  • Preference for modern, ultra-sustainable (passive + building science), site specific design

Technical Requirements:

  • We work in Revit, so Revit license and skillset is a must (+AutoCAD)
  • Current 3D modeling and visualization methods (could include SketchUp, 3ds Max, Lumion, Unity, Unreal, Cinema4d, etc.)
  • G-Suite, Dropbox, and other file sharing, editing, management tools
  • Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, etc.)
  • UX, Brand, Web, and Video design a plus! We love multi-faceted designers
