EVIA Studio is a newresearch-based architecture and consulting firm in Silicon Valley specializing in contextualstory-richfuture-minded custom residences, multifamily, and mixed-use developments. We are dedicated to designing beautiful, cutting-edge, and resilient housing for the West Coast, with local offices in the Bay Area, California and Bellingham, Washington.

In true Silicon Valley spirit, we practice less like your typical architecture firm and more like a burgeoning start-up with big goals and a rebel spirit. Our team operates in a completely virtual practice, and we're looking for uniqueambitiousvisionary designers to join as part-time independent contractors with potential to take on long-term, significant roles in the company as we grow and evolve. You will work collaboratively with the firm's Founder and Studio Director to create and execute contract documents and manage the development of stunning, detail-oriented design from concept through construction.

We are lucky to have some very exciting projects on the boards, so this is a fantastic opportunity to push yourself and flex your expertise and passion for details, constructibility, and code compliance in a role offering tremendous flexibility, leadership, and diverse experiences throughout all traditional phases of a project plus some not-so-traditional ones; we're breaking the mold and inventing new processes to offer unique value to our clients.

You should have:

  • B.Arch or M.Arch + (bonus points for multi-discipline background)
  • 10+ years design experience, predominantly high-end residential work
  • Impeccable presentation skills - clean, precise, and accurate construction documentation
  • High level of skill in detailing contemporary residential design and a robust understanding of code compliance (CRC, CBC, IBC, IRC)
  • Architecture licensure preferred (or license in engineering, contractor, etc.)
  • Extensive wood and steel frame construction experience
  • Deep understanding of consultants work/drawings to coordinate/collaborate (structural, civil, geotech, landscape, MEP engineers, etc)
  • Interest in new methods of digital design representation (VR, AR, etc.)
  • Thirst for knowledge - latest trends, materials, construction methods, research
  • Preference for modern, ultra-sustainable (passive + building science), natural materials, and site specific design

Technical Requirements:

  • We work in Revit, so Revit license and skillset is a must (+AutoCAD) (and familiarity with A360)
  • Some understanding of 3D modeling and visualization methods to coordinate with our designers
  • G-Suite, Dropbox, and other file sharing, editing, management tools
  • Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, etc.)
  • Bluebeam, Plangrid, etc. for digital markup/shared reviews
